About – Where’s the ironing board?
I am a 31 year old mother of two little energetic boys. I enjoy taking them to new places to explore and share our adventures. I have recently started running and use that as a reason to explore new places too. I also eat cake everyday.
As a family we like to get up to all sorts of things, mainly we like to have fun and explore without having to pay too much money!
I’m not a perfect mother, I yell quite often, grumble when i’m woken before 6am, take offence when they don’t like my cooking and have recently started to pretend I can’t hear my eldest son when he repeatedly asks ‘why?’ There is only so much questioning I can cope with. But with this in mind I try my best to give them as much of my time to experience childhood as children should and this means having fun.
I spent far too much time in my earlier days with little confidence to do much, but over the past 4-5 years my confidence has slowly grown, especially since my boys were born. I now love to challenge myself to do new stuff. By a challenge I don’t mean I want to travel the world, bungee jump of the highest bridge, become famous or try to drink more alcohol than I have ever previously done. I mean more day to day challenges, like baking or cooking something new, visiting somewhere different with my boys, running in a new place.
More than anything I wish to make the most of my time here, I owe it to myself and my family, there’s just no time for ironing.

Looking forward to reading about your adventures – you never know, we may feature in some! xx
really love the photo you posted, too.
Hey you’ve been busy 🙂 I didn’t know you had a blog. I love it. We can keep up with what you are doing now too! Not much ironing going on here either…Ed often has to do his own…the horror!
I didn’t mention it to anyone for quite a while, wasn’t convinced of my writing skills, not that I think my writing skills are anything special! It’s been fun so far, takes over my life a bit though! Nice to have something to look back on. Boys would like to know if they can visit to see G’s chickens at some point?
Yes you must come up and see our girls! I change my writing style all the time. Can’t decide who I am yet.
Hi there, thanks for supporting my world … and I think your worlds is pretty awesome too … hate ironing too. *smile
Thanks for your lovely comments and for spending time looking at my blog. I started my blog for exactly the same reasons as you, and have been challenging myself bit by bit each day.
First was buying the bike and next was learning to cycle in London- scary!
With every little personal accomplishment, I feel so proud of myself!
Keep it going 🙂
love your intro and I totally agree about the ironing. Though even if I did have more time, I still wouldn’t do any!
Thanks and no, we need to get our priorities right, always bake cake in spare time, never iron!
Hi S – I nominated you for the Liebster Award – I’ve really enjoyed your blog! http://smellingthehoneysuckles.wordpress.com/2012/12/08/liebster-award/ xx
Thanks for the nomination, it’s a really lovely thought, but i’m far too lazy to actually deal with these, sorry for being a bit rubbish.
🙂 I “nominated” you for one too! All you need to do is revel in the admiration…(no extra questions or posts needed. I just wanted to link to your lovely blog).

Thanks Jen, that’s really kind of you! I don’t have the imagination to think of all those questions 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog–I’m glad it helped me to find yours! No wonder you don’t iron. As I always say, “Something’s gotta give,” and if you’re creating such a wonderful world for your boys and taking care of yourself, ironing is the FIRST thing to go! Can’t wait to read about more of your adventures. ~Jen
