The Fireman is Five! A Woodland Party
Yes five years old! At times I think it’s flown by, then other times not so! Straight after his fourth birthday I made the decision not to have his next party at home, there just is not enough room. So together The Cyclist and I planned at party in the woods. We picked a local nature reserve and invited about 10 friends.
The invites went out and all came back within the week, had a bit of a panic at this point as I’d not quite finished planning the actual day! Anyway the theme was loosely based on a dragon who was hoping to leave his treasure in the hands of some trustworthy friends whilst he visited China.
To make sure these friends were brave and trusting he set a number of challenges including a trail, a game of pretending to be animals surviving in the woods and potion making. To be honest though we could have just let them loose in the woods and they’d have made their own entertainment! They were straight in making dens before we started.
Part way round we found a feasting treasure of hot dogs and cakes after that came the potion making, the magic spell being the birthday song, which then led onto the ‘X’ marks the spot birthday cake.
The final treasure however were the party bags, it’s not a party without party bags.
The Fireman seemed to enjoy himself and I think and hope his friends did too!
