A lazy afternoon at St Chad’s Water, Draycott

The boys seem to be getting more and more tired each afternoon I collect them from pre-school.  The continually argue or moan about walking home.  Today I collected them in the car and we went straight over to St Chad’s Water at Draycott.

Once there they immediately stopped arguing and became happy and active again, that’s the great outdoors for you.  We just drifted about for an hour feeding the ducks and eating our snacks.  The boys enjoyed fishing, following Jemima Puddleduck and telling the swan off for being a bossy boots.

It’s a small lake formerly a gravel pit, about 1km all the way round, the pathway is easy to follow with bits of boardwalk along the way.  It was very peaceful and calm.  We’ll go back another day when we have more time and take a picnic.
